Need something FUN to do for SPRING BREAK?
Trinkets will be offering a Jewelry Making Camp for Kids. The dates of the camp will be April 25, 2011 through April 28, 2011. There will be two sessions...morning from 9-12 and afternoon from 1:00-4:00...your choice. The four day session will be $95 or $25 for one three hour class. This includes all supplies, instruction, and nutritional snacks. Registration begins on March 15. There will be a class limit of 8 students per session. The weekly schedule and projects will be on the Trinkets' web site in January.

Gemstone Necklace designed for Erica Sunshine Lee
Trinkets' owner, Rita Knight, designed a necklace of genuine jasper 7.5 mm beads combined with 5.5 mm jade beads for Erica Sunshine Lee. The necklace has a sterling silver sun pendant with a raised amber center. It also has a sterling silver hammered hook clasp. Erica will be at The Melting Point in Athens, Ga on December 16 as well as several locations around the Atlanta area. She has recently moved from California to Nashville.

Trinkets' "Making Gifts for the Holidays" Class on December 11, 2010
Trinkets will be having its last class for this year through the Madison Artists Guild on December 11, 2010. The theme of this workshop is "Making Gifts for the Holidays". Students will make a
pair of earrings for Mom from hand-made ceramic beads made by a North Carolina artist.
They will work on friendship bracelets for friends using pink luminescent beads, sterling-plated hearts, letters, and heart toggle clasps...shown in picture. Students can make three bracelets using an assortment of beads and charms, a beaded headband, a pair of glass candy cane earrings.
The workshop will be from 1:30 to 3:30 in the MAG classroom. Deadline to register is December 9...Call Martha Lower to register at 706-342-4958. $25 per student.

Trinkets' In-Home Studio/Classroom in "Studios" Magazine
Trinkets' in-home studio/classroom will be in the future issue of "Studios" Magazine. The picture disc and article have arrived in Stow, Massachusetts where the national magazine is published. Be sure to stay tuned for more information...and a big "thank you" to David for cleaning up the pics for the disc..."Studios" is sold at all major bookstores & craft stores...Barnes & Noble, Borders, Michael's, Hobby Lobby to name a few. It comes out quarterly.

Athens Academy Fashion Show at Athens Country Club
Trinkets was pleased to contribute a pair of 18K matte gold-plated hoop floral earrings to the silent auction for the Athens Academy Fashion Show at the Athens Country Club on Friday, November 19, 2010. Several thousand dollars were raised in this annual fundraiser. My daughter, Amanda Knight, headed this show up two years ago at Maison Blue in Watkinsville.

Trinkets Jewelry Making Classes for Kids
Trinkets Jewelry Designs has monthly jewelry-making workshops for kids through the Madison
Artists' Guild and the Monroe Art Guild. The next workshop will be on Saturday, December 11... 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Madison Artists Guild's downtown classroom space on the square in Madison. The workshop is open for ages 6-12, and the fee is $25 per student. The fee includes all supplies, instruction, and classroom rental. Topic for October: "The Pearl".
Different kinds of pearls will be discussed as well as the symbolism of the pearl and other charms used in jewelry-making such as birds, flowers, hearts, etc. The students will complete two projects...a freshwater pearl bracelet with a sterling silver toggle and a pearl bookmark with charms.
In the December workshop on December 11, 2010 the students will be making a gift for Mom.
We will also "toast" in the Holiday Season with sparkling cider...in wineglasses, of course, and homemade Reese cups...they are fabulous! (Recipe compliments of Rob Brown...Amanda's boyfriend...I secretly hope Rob will become a chef...he's a great cook & enjoys it...we need a chef and a tech guy in this family!!!!! Ha!
