Degas Art Workshop with Katherine Schuber

We had a wonderful art workshop at Sunshine Village Art Gallery in Watkinsville, GA a couple of weeks ago. Well- known artist, Katherine Schuber, conducted the Degas Art Workshop. We painted "Dancers at the Barre", ca. 1900 which is one of the paintings featured in the recent exhibit, "The European Masterworks: The Phillips Collection", at The High Museum in Atlanta, GA

Valentine's Day...A Celebration of the Heart

Valentine's Day is such a special day for so many reasons. It brings to mind one of my favorite Bible verses, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Psalm 147:3

The heart has been one of the key focuses in my journey. Looking back, I am amazed at the references to the heart from the Bible as well as other sources that have crossed my path in the last few years. I also have noticed the jewelry, paintings, and mixed media art that I have made with a heart theme...the articles that I have read, the people I have been exposed to including my wonderful, creative students, and the prayers from many have contributed to the healing of my heart.

So share the LOVE this Valentine's Day! Also, remember, "Above all else, guard your heart, for
it is the wellspring of life." Proverbs 4:23

My Jewelry-Making/Entrepreneurship students have been focusing on a word they selected at the beginning of the year. This project was inspired by the book, "One Word that will change Your life".
Many words were chosen, but the predominant one was LOVE.
