ART in Interior Design

 ART is everywhere! Art is subjective...it is wonderful that different mediums appeal to different people. One can build a room around art, or it can be found in the smallest details of the room. As I took a recent stroll through one of my favorite places, I took notice of some of the art...from primitive folk art paintings by local artist, Joyce Connell to face jugs... to more! I also love to take notice of how art is displayed.

 I am excited about sharing short blog posts just to plant a seed of inspiration. I will highlight art, home decor, and home accessories.  Some of the art will be my own and some will be from other local and well-known artists & designers. Eclectic Style

 A friend of mine who is into vintage and seems to have an eye for what is selling at the moment just sold these two loveseats to a client in NYC.  As you can see, this client has a knack for putting things together and creating a warm environment with her eclectic style.  

                       

                 

                        

Lamps, Lamps, & More Lamps

 I love lamps!  There are so many different kinds at so many price points. I do think lamps can really add a lot of pizazz to a room. Sometimes a room can unfold around them.  Here are a few I found recently at Madison Markets located in Madison, Georgia.

This is also a unique way to display a deer head if it is impossible to get it relegated to the basement.

Designer Sophie Ashby's Art-Driven Interiors are rich in color and eclectic touches. She leans towards paintings that are on a large scale.  The smaller paintings can be in a hallway or a corridor. Here is one of her rooms where the art and color pack a big punch!

It's Summertime...New Earrings, Abstract Art, Folk Artists & The Tams!

 Love summer!  Rita Knight Designs has been busy with new art and jewelry! All the 18K gold-plated earrings have been loaded into the ETSY shop, ritaknightdesigns.etsy.com   Thanks to daughter, Abby, we have a new logo!

The Madison Artists Guild sponsored an exhibition, "Earthbound Stories & Skyward Dreams" showcasing three folk artists.  

These local artists are well-known and always draw a crowd! Everyone loves the talent and subject matter of folk artists.

Abstract is always fun and adds a light-hearted dimension to any home!

So honored to have one of my paintings selected to be in the "Nature Meets Art" Exhibition at The Roe Restaurant in Monroe.  The resined painting is on the bottom right...perfect for outside areas or porches. This exhibition will be up through July and available for purchase. Paintings were entered through the MWCA.
