"A Clean Heart"...How to Reach Your Full Potential

There are so many people who are unhappy and discontented for so many reasons. They are living with a sense of hopelessness. We should be focusing on how God sees us...through the eyes of love & forgiveness. He sees us for the possibilities we have...not for our past mistakes.

We were created by God in His image...so we need to line up with God to reach our full potential. Some people think they are too old or that it is too late. It is never too late. It is a process of confession & repentance. I have made many poor choices for one reason or another, but if you trust Him, He will turn your life around and show us the right path.

There are many references and scriptures about the heart in the Bible, but my favorite scripture is, "Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life". Proverbs 4:23

My abstract heart series portrays the heart in many stages. Purify your heart and watch God take you to your full potential.

"It's All about the Heart" Series Launches

This series is so special because it is about the heart which is a popular icon traced to 10,000 B.C. Egyptians believed that it was the center of life & mortality.  Ancient Greeks held the heart to be the center of the soul.  The Romans viewed it as the single most vital organ for sustaining life.

The heart...no other symbol conveys affection and warmth of spirit like the heart. This mixed media collection is made up of hearts made from alpaca, Teeswater sheep, merino wool, paint, and wire. A friend, Debra Flagle who owns an alpaca farm, contributed these scraps. Debra makes beautiful scarves and hats.

The hearts can be found at MAGallery in downtown Madison and also can be purchased by contacting me at ritaknight18@gmail.com

Carol Denna, Member of Creatives

Carol Denna is another artist who has an appreciation for the therapeutic and fun benefits of Art. She is a self-taught artist who lives in the Lake Oconee area. After a successful career in the field of education, Carol started painting with watercolor and then moved on to acrylic, oil, and then mixed media.

Recently, her focus has been experimenting with everyday objects... letting the paint/materials take the lead. Carol also enjoys the social aspect as much as the art. She likes to show people they CAN do art. Her art has been recognized by winning several ribbons at the Eatonton Plaza Art Shows.

Her recycling of materials gives them a new life in her art. One of those surprising materials is dryer lint!

Carol will be an asset to this creative group who appreciates art & has fun doing it!

The Creatives...New Collective

I am delighted to announce a new collective in Madison,  "The Creatives".  A small group of artists who appreciate whimsy & friendship have decided to get together to share their skills, knowledge, and have fun while they are doing it!

The focus of the group will be to have workshops, events, mentoring classes & above all, celebrate ART!

One of the artists I would like to highlight today is Susan Kelley. Many Madisonians already know Susan because of her talent for making wedding cakes. In this chapter of her life, she is exploring another talent by upcycling jewelry. Susan finds pieces everywhere...from estate sales to antique stores. Her latest venture is "cat" earrings with a few necklaces thrown in. Here is Susan in her studio with a few of her new pieces.
