"The Art of Jewelry Design" Curriculum

Being a teacher for many years, I have always enjoyed working with students who are eager to learn and explore their creative spirit. My love of children and jewelry design inspired me to develop a five day curriculum emphasizing the skills of color, texture, pattern-making, symbolism in the context of charms and adornments used in jewelry- making while incorporating activities that improve hand-eye coordination & small muscle development. The classes can be taught in five consecutive days or scattered over a few weeks. Each class would be approximately two hours in length.
Children love hands-on projects. They work in groups where cooperation and teamwork are encouraged. Friendships and new-found respect for others blossom in that type of environment. Hands-on projects are fun...twice...once while making the project and then again when you hear,
"Look, I made it myself". A rush of pride is experienced when completing a job well done promoting positive self-esteem.
